Greece. What a beautiful country. Our vacation from the vacation. This part of our trip allowed us to slow down and recharge from our fast paced tour of Eastern Europe.
We started off in Athens and stayed at a charming, centrally located hotel in the Plaka district. Greeted with a complimentary bottle of wine upon check-in, we imbibed and watched the sunset on our balcony which included a great view of the Acropolis. That same evening, Matt scouted out a sports bar to watch the red zone because…football. We ended up chatting and grabbing drinks with a few other folks from the states resulting in a much later night than planned, but a great time nonetheless! We couldn’t leave Athens without seeing the main sites, so we powered through our hangover the next day and visited the Olympic Stadium and the incredible Acropolis and Parthenon. Totally worth it!
Our trip to Santorini landed at the perfect time on our itinerary. We spent a few amazing days enjoying the gorgeous caldera views from our room and eating plenty of delicious food. Our stay was made extra enjoyable as we had our own private outdoor hot tub and made to order breakfast served on our balcony each morning. Pure relaxation.
We’ve now made our way to a different country and continent altogether – Egypt! Highlights on our next post. Until then…
AM & Matt
